Hello Gorgeous Swallowtail Butterfly

Hello Gorgeous Plaid Butterfly wm.jpg

Hi there, it’s Angie here with a super quick and fun card for you!  I bought some plaid paper recently and have had a lot of fun playing with it!  I cut the Hero Arts Swallowtail Fancy Butterfly die out of the plaid and cut a few curved stitched edges from it too.  I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts black ink from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous set heat embossed in Hero Arts clear embossing powder.   I added some Nuvo white drops on the back of the butterfly.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

I hope you will have time to join in the fun for this month’s  challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Paper Layering Daisy Hello

paper-layering-daisy-wm

Angie here today with a fun card with lots of red on it for our February Challenge!

I copied the technique Jennifer McGuire recently showed in a video.  I varied it a little by cutting the daisy out of the center, and popped the daisy and the sentiments  up on fun foam.  The little black notes are a tiny punch I have in my stash.

I used Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy, Hero Arts Hello stamp and die set, Hero Arts CG691 Garden Bold Prints background stamp (out of stock but you can special order it), Hero Arts White Embossing powder, white and black card stock, Hero Arts Red Ink.

I hope you will have time to join in the fun for this month’s  challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.

Embellished Hero Arts Paper Layering Daisy Card – Hello Stamp and Cut

hello nov 15th embellished card a2z.jpg

I had so much fun making this embellished card!  I used the Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy die set to cut the flower out of plaid patterned paper, then used the outside die that comes with the set to give the dark brown background under the petals.  I used patterned paper from my stash in oranges and browns and yellow to create the layers on this card.  The sentiment is a die from the Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Die set DC151 cut from brown card stock and then sparkled up with some Wink of Stella.  I used circle and rectangle dies from my stash to cut the layers.  I added the layers to a Hero Arts White Card base PS566 and added tons of gems.  Some were Hero Arts and other were from my stash.  You can find great gems in many colors in the store click HERE!

I hope you will have time to join us this month for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product and link up your card HERE.  Good Luck!

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.  The new release products are in the store now so have fun shopping!

A Hero Arts Hello with Layering Orchids

Hello…. a great sentiment.   You can add lots of other sentiments with it.  Just like I did here

IMG_1762W

Hello With Orchids

I used two beautiful sets from Hero Arts….

The orchid stamp set (CL942) has a matching die set as well (DI177) but I don’t have it.   I added a die cut Hello from CL151 with the sentiment from the set.    Using a MISTI tool really makes the layering stamps easy to do.

Hello You’re So Lovely

Hi everyone, it’s Angie here with another CAS card to hopefully inspire you to join in the fun challenge at a2zscrapbooking blog this month!  There’s still time to enter and you could win a $25 gift certificate to the A2Z Scrapbooking Store!  You can read all about it – HERE!

I used the Hero Arts set “You’re so Lovely” to stamp inside the masked area, I  used 2 stamps, (the little berries on the branch and the “hello” stamp) from the set and heat embossed them in white, then inked multiple colors of ink on the strip.  I removed the masking and let the inks dry, then stamped a bunch of little hearts all over the rest of the card and heat embossed it in clear so you can’t really see it – it just gives a nice effect.  You could use any stamp you like to do this for a subtle background.  I wrapped some twine around the colored section, then mounted it on fun foam, then a black panel, then a white folded card.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Stamp set it also has a matching die set Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Die Set.  Hero Arts Snow Layering Paper PS610Hero Arts Snow White Folded Cards PS566Hero Arts White Embossing PowderHero Arts Midnight Mix Layering Paper PS607,  Sponge Ink Daubers.

And here are the inks available in the store that match what I used:  Hero Arts Raspberry Jam Shadow InkHero Arts Lemon Yellow InkHero Arts Indigo Ink,  .   A set that has little hearts in it if you want to make that kind of background:  HERE

A Little Hello

Hello there everyone! Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts and I love this month’s challenge of Texture!

Now, you’re probably expecting that I broke out the texture paste and whipped up something awesome, and you would be half right – it’s awesome. I had a stencil in my hand when I remembered that the town was flushing the hydrants and, therefore, I had no water to clean my supplies with! Oops…so plan b was created, and for those of you who don’t have texture paste or the like, this card is for you!

2015-08-15 Jen Hello Card

Embossing powder to the rescue! Between the heat embossing and the twine, this card is full of texture and less messy than paste. Well, except when you spill powder all over…so I hear…

Now, a small disclaimer – both stamp sets I used are out of stock in the shop. I know, I know…I always manage to do that to you guys! But fear not, just hit the little ‘request custom order’ button in the shop and they’ll hook you up. Ok? Ok. Be sure to check out the new holiday stamps while you’re there, too, because OMG are they amazing! JENNIFER15 gets you 15% off your order of $25 or more, remember…all right, back to the card! **Update – the gorgeous background stamp is back in stock! Woohoo**

I started with some Pool layering paper and scored it at 5.5″ to create my top-folding card. The BasicGrey Bold Flower Pattern background stamped was inked up with VersaMark and heat embossed with the Hero Arts White embossing powder, which is truly my favorite white powder ever. While my powder was out, I stamped the ‘hello’ tag from the Little Tags set onto a scrap of gray cardstock and heat embossed it as well.

So all the white you see here is embossing powder, and the blue peeking through is the Pool cardstock. I wish you could feel this, it’s really amazing. You’ll just have to make one yourself and see. 😉

2015-08-15 Jennifer embossing

Once I had everything heat embossed, my card was nearly done! I trimmed out the tag and used a small hole punch to use it as an actual tag, then wrapped the hemp cord around the card and knotted it. To attach the tag, I looped more cording through the opening and then tied it around my string bundle, giving it that cool double-knot look. A bit of dimensional tape behind the card and it was done!

2015-08-15 Jen embossed hello card

Honestly, it took no time at all to make. Like I’m off to make a full set of these cuties to have on hand! I hope this gave you a different idea of how to add texture to your card – I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

By the Sea

I’m thrilled to be creating with new Hero Arts Stamps … have you checked out the latest release … so many cool things.

This card combines three new products  – Hero Arts/BasicGrey Waves Background; Hero Arts/BasicGrey Anchors Away; and Kelly’s No Comment.

az030515wm

I inked the waves with blue Hawaii and Blue Violet inks and then created my underwater wonderland by stamping on top with the same inks.  Kelly’s sentiment seemed perfect for my school of fish.

For the second card I used the same process (because if you’re going to stamp one … you might as well stamp two).

az030515-2wm

This time I used the sentiment from the Anchors Aweigh Set.

Remember you can find a2z scrapbooking on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Remember, you can use Coupon Code STEPH15 for 15% off your order of $25.00 or more (before tax and shipping) in the a2z Store … and the a2z Store has the 2015 Hero Arts release in stock.

Springtime Hello

Greta here with a card to hopefully brighten your day & inspire you to make something for our embossing challenge.  I know many of you are in the midst of a pretty severe winter, so how about thinking Spring?! My card uses two of the wonderful stamp sets in the a2z store’s SALES/RETIRED section.

a2z Feb 2

I started by inking the little flower using another sale item–Pale Yellow ink dauber–& randomly stamped it around the card front.  The frame was white embossed twice with one frame completely trimmed out & just the inside of the other one.  After stamping “Hello” in Cup O’ Joe on the partial frame, it was attached with foam tape & mounted to the center of the card.  One additional flower was trimmed out & popped up.  The frame & added flower were coated with Stickles & pale yellow pearls decorate the flowers.  Now it’s your turn–use at least ONE HERO ARTS STAMP, HERO ARTS DIGITAL IMAGE OR HERO ARTS DIE CUT (Hero Arts Silhouette shapes are allowed too) along with any type of embossing & enter the February challenge.  Remember, you can use GRETA15 to get 15% off a minimum $25 purchase in the a2z store.

One more thing before I go, did you know that we are on Twitter, Instagramand Facebook?. If you haven’t done so already, please follow us on these different social media outlets! You don’t want to miss out on any fun promotions!

Hello

Hello everyone.  I generally avoid coloring images, but watercoloring is fun & forgiving.  That’s the theme for this month’s challenge & I have a card to show you what I mean.  The flowers were stamped & embossed in black. Next I used a water brush to wet one of the flowers.  Then I touched the brush on a Distress Ink pad & touched the flower. The ink moves because the flower is wet, making it easier to color.  More ink was added as needed to get the intensity I wanted.  I continued this process until all the flowers were colored.  After fussy cutting, I fit the image inside the frame & attached it to a dry embossed vellum panel.  The sentiment was stamped, fussy cut & attached with foam tape.  I finished off the card with some little pearls.  Hope I’ve inspired you to try some watercoloring & enter our December challenge.

You Make Me Smile!!

Good Morning!     Today, here in the United States, we are celebrating Veteran’s Day.   A special day of remembrance to honor and thank all the Men and Women who proudly protect and serve our country.   I would also like to extend those wishes to Veteran’s from each and every country – all over the world.   Thank you for serving your Country and protecting us all from harm.    You are all Heroes and I greatly admire you service and support!   Thank YOU!

VeteransDayHonorThanks

I have two new cards to share today and both of these were created using a this wonderful “Hero Arts/Basic Grey” stamp set, called “You Make Me Smile”.   You’ll find this set along with several of the other products I used for these cards, over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store!     NOTE:  I am also including an “Inlinkz” product list at the bottom on the post to link you to all these supplies!

You Make Me Smile – CL781

Hero Arts BasicGrey Grand Bazaar You Make Me Smile CL781

I really enjoyed working with this set and now have all kinds of new ideas to use it for more cards.    I love the set name and think having that sentiment as part of this set, makes it one that is very versatile and perfect for every day cards.   Great for friendship cards, encouragement cards and those cards that are meant to brighten someone’s day!     For my first card, I started with some cream cardstock, three stamps from this set and my “Navy” Hero Arts shadow Ink.    I pre-arranged the stamps the way I wanted them to line up on my craft mat, and then used my “Fiskars Stamp Press” to easily stamp all three at the same time, keeping them arranged as they were on my mat.   One I had those done, I simple re-inked the same circle/flower design and repeated that image twice to complete the design.    I trimmed down this panel and adhered it onto some of PTI’s “Navy” cardstock.   I created a second thinner banner using Hero’s Five Line Background Stamp, an “oldie but goodie” from my stash.   I trimmed that to be the same height as my first panel and again layered it onto more Navy cardstock.  Both panels where then adhered to a “Charcoal” notecard and embellished with some Hero Arts Pearls.   It easy a fun, yet easy card to create and could be done in a variety of colors!

You make me....

That brings us to my next card, also created with the same stamp set, which I think is the perfect set for “every day” cards.    I started this time with some of Hero’s Snow layering paper, and stamped on this sweet little floral image, again using Navy Shadow Ink.  I then used a set of Nestie Circles to cut out that image, and also a second circle, one size larger, in Navy.  I adhered that image to the Navy base, which was later added to my “Stitched Banner” which I created with a favorite Lawn Fawn die set.   The banner was then added to some “Navy & White” Polka Dotted cardstock that I adhered to my Charcoal card base.  I cut two thin strips of Navy Cardstock and added those to the sides of the banner, to frame it in.    I finished this card by added two white pearls and the “Happiness” sentiment, also stamped in Navy!    This one turned out to be my favorite of the two, what do you think?

happiness...

I hope I have inspired you to try this stamp set or some of the other wonderful Hero Arts products we sell over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store.   I also want to encourage you to enter our “November Challenge”, which is an “Easy” one, as the theme isAnything Goes!!    Just be certain, that your project contains at least one main Hero Art product, as always.   One lucky winner will be drawn from all the eligible entries and will receive a $25 Gift Certificate for your shopping pleasure at the a2z Store.
