CAS design using Hero Arts’ So Sorry Stamp and Cut

Hi, Cindy here to share a CAS design using Hero Arts’ So Sorry Stamp and Cut set.  Even though this set was design for the Lasting Hearts effort, it is really versatile and you could use it for many occasions.  I did a card that could fit any of the following categories:  friendship/sympathy/everyday hello.

My process:

  • Use pencil and lightly mark the vertical center line and a horizontal line 1 inch about the bottom edge of white card base.
  • Stamp the small string of hearts from the So Sorry Stamp and Cut set using Hero Art Ombre Ink: Butter to Orange along the horizontal line.
  • Stamp the rest of the pattern above the first stamped line.  Let ink dry.  Gently remove the pencil mark with an eraser.
  • On water colour paper, dab Pale Tomato, Neon Pink, Neon Orange ink randomly and spritz with Perfect Pearl solution to create a watercolour look.  Once it’s dried, add Pearl acrylic paint on selected parts, let dry.  Press Ombre Ink (Butter to Orange) ink pad all over and let dry.  Die cut using the large heart shape die from the So Sorry Stamp and Cut set, then use one of the smaller heart shape dies  from the same set to create the negative space as shown.
  • Stamp sentiment using Hero Art Ombre Ink: Butter to Orange, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Adhere die cut heart with form adhesive.

You’re My Heart

Hi, crafty friends! I used the new So Sorry Stamp and Cut set for my watercolor card today. I love this set, part of the proceeds go to charity and it’s so versatile. You can use it for sympathy cards or encouragement cards and love cards.

To watercolor this card, I used gelatos as the “paint.” I scribbled on a clear acrylic block, added water with a brush and then painted the hearts.

I also tried just scribbling some gelatos onto one of the hearts and then adding water. That one was darker than the rest. It’s in the top right area with the heart die cut in the center.

As they dried, I colored some areas on patterned paper and then smoothed it with my finger with no water added.

I adhered the dry hearts and then stamped the heart chains in black and added the watercolor mini hearts at the bottom. Then I stamped the sentiment on the heart and on the background and added some watered down black paint around the hearts for dimension.

This was really fun to make, since I got to color, paint and get my fingers all messy!

Hope you’ll join us in the April Watercolor Challenge, using your Hero Arts stamp, stencil or die cut as the main element for a chance to win $25 to the a2z Scrapbooking store!

Happy Saturday!
