Giggling with Hero Arts

Aloha and Happy Thursday friends!  Today’s card was inspired by my brother in law and his favorite emoji.  I was late for his birthday, so I thought I’d make it funny and use Hero Arts Irreverent Birthday Messages.  The little winky smile is from Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun and the sentiments were inked in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on Hero Arts Kraft Notecards (it has the matching envelopes too).

Hero Arts Irreverent Birthday Messages

On the notecard I stamped the Hero Arts Candy Stripe Bold Print background inked in Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo (I believe these items can be custom ordered through the store).  For some added color I used Peeled Paint which looks so beautiful and vibrant on the Kraft card panel.

Hero Arts Irreverent Messages

That’s my card for today!  I hope it gave you a little giggle.

Distress Stripes and Hero Arts Peacock Stencil

Aloha and Happy Wednesday friends!  This month’s challenge is playing with stencils and there are so many techniques to use.  The best part about stencils is they’re inexpensive and super versatile!  Here’s my card for today…

Hero Arts Peacock Feather Stencil and Distress Stripes

I first created some stripes using Distress Inks in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch on Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  Then I took the Hero Arts Peacock Feathers Stencil  and layed it over and gave it a quick mist of water, blotting away the excess.  This technique gives you a bit of a “bleached look.”  Extra tips: fine mist works best and blotting right after.  Also placing a darker layer of Distress Inks makes the “bleaching effect” more prominent.

Hero Arts Peacock Feather Stencil and Distress Stripes

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Birthday Messages and is inked in Hero Arts Intense Black ink and added a couple of thin black strips of cardstock to bring out the black ink.  To complete the look I added the new Hero Arts Ombre Ocean sequins.  These sequins are gorgeous and I love that there are different shades and 2 different sizes!

I hope this inspires you to join our monthly challenge for your chance to win $25 to the a2z Scrapbooking store!  We also have ANOTHER chance for you to get a $25 gift certificate by simply commenting on each blog post throughout March!

Mahalo for stopping by and good luck!!

Watercolor and Floral Hero Arts Die

Aloha and happy Thursday friends!  Have you got your hands on the latest Hero Arts products for 2017?  You can find most of them in the a2z Scrapbooking store!  I snagged the fabulous Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die  which die cuts a BEAUTIFUL oval shaped border with pretty leaves, flowers, and even sweet little butterflies!  Check it out…

haa2zfloraldiebday2

I was going to keep it simple and just die cut from white cardstock, but I had my Derwent Watercolor Pencils out and was in the mood to color!

haa2zfloraldiebday3

The blue background was created with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.  I then stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.  I wanted a little more dimension and used a coat of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White to accentuate the handwritten look.

Hero Arts Floral Border die, Watercolored

For the final touch I decided to get fancy and flicked on some Finetec Gold paint for a touch of shimmer.

The die is really gorgeous and you can check out my Instagram @stampnhi for a different look using the die.  I can definitely see myself using this one a lot!  Perfect for any occasion!!

Red Royal Shaker Heart with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Wednesday friends!  Our challenge this month is Any Shade of Red so today I decided to go with a tone on tone look inspired by the challenge.

Hero Arts Valentine Shaker

I used some red cardstock and inked up Hero Arts Candy Stripe Bold Print in Hero Arts Red Royal Shadow ink.  I stamped it out twice turning my card to get that plaid look.

Hero Arts Valentine Shaker

I then die cut a heart using Hero Arts So Sorry Stamp and Cut to create my heart shaped window, backed it with Hero Arts Acetate Sheets and filled with some red sequins and silver stars from my stash.  I didn’t want a bulky shaker card, so I just sandwiched the window with some white cardstock and adhered the edges.  This also allows most of the sequins to stay put.

Hero Arts Valentine Shaker

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you join our challenge this month for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store.  Stay tuned because Hero Arts new release will soon be available at a2z Scrapbooking!!

Wedding Bloom with Hero Arts

Happy Sunday friends!  Everyone recovered from the holiday season?  As for our household, the weekend continues to be filled with events to attend.  One of them was a beautiful wedding with a gorgeous color scheme…navy and coral!

Here’s my wedding bloom card using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Mum Flower die.

Hero Arts Wedding Mum

I used a coral colored cardstock for my card base and some navy blue card stock to die cut the mums.  I wanted a little more bling, since the bride loves sparkle, and used some stickles in pinks and oranges to enhance that coral color.

Hero Arts Wedding Mum 3

The sentiment is Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and Cut, die cut from blue glitter paper and again in that coral cardstock.  I just layered them over each other for a shadow effect and used some clear Kool Tak Foam for some dimension.  The petals were curled first then the Stickles added.

A Fishy Birthday with Hero Arts

Happy Wednesday friends!  Hope your week is going by well…I’m personally looking forward to the 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving!!

Today’s card was made for a friend that loves fishes.  I used the fun Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish with matching dies and Hero Arts Inks in Pale Tomato and Strawberry Hybrid Ink then topped with Hero Arts Clear Embossing powder for a little shine.

haA2Zbdayfish.gif

The confetti background and balloon is from Hero Arts Balloon Animal Birthday with matching dies.

For added fun I made the fish “swim” through the water using a slider die cut and a penny behind the fish.  There are tons of YouTube videos that you can watch to make a penny slider card.  I love interactive cards.

That’s it for me today!  Don’t forget about our monthly challenge for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store.

Trim a Tree with Hero Arts Fancy Dies

Aloha!  Today I wanted to play with the fun Hero Arts Paper Layering Pine Tree with Frame. This month’s challenge is Embellishment so I went to town with this fun die!!

haa2ztreeembellished

I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder to random edges of the die for a snow kissed looking tree.  Then added random sized Hero Arts gemstones in Yellow,  Citron, Pale Pink and Light Blue.

haa2ztreeembellished2

The die cut was adhered to a simple pattern paper, die cut on the edges with a criss cross pattern for a subtle embellishment.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Holiday Greetings.

Hawaiian Christmas with Hero Arts Destination Stamp

Hello again!  Niki G. here with a Hawaiian themed card using Hero Arts Destination Hawaii stamp.  (sorry it was in the store when I created the card, but there’s still San Francisco and Seattle or you can special order!)

haa2zxmashitag

I inked up the destination stamp and used a tag die cut to get the part of the stamp I wanted for the scene.  I colored with copics and the sentiment is from Hero Arts Christmas Messages.

Witch Feet Tags with Hero Arts

Aloha friends!  I’m a huge fan of Halloween because it kick starts all the holidays for the rest of the year in our household.  I love the sweet costumes and fun decorations…the scary part I can do without!

I’ve been playing around with the Hero Arts Witch Feet Stamp and Cuts and decided to make some fun tags perfect for this month’s challenge!

HAA2ZWitchFeetTags2

To create the tags I folded up some cardstock and lined the matching die slightly over the fold on the cardstock.  Once die cut I stamped the image and colored.  The die is so detailed and fun!  I added some twine and now I have sweet little witch feet tags to add to hand sanitizers to pass out in the office during Halloween!

HAA2ZWitchFeetTags3

On the inside I wrote out the sentiment and added a little spider web from the set for fun.
