Hello Crafters!
It’s Kelly here today and I’m going to be sharing some cards I made with a new holiday set from Hero Arts called Christmas Crystals.
I knew from the moment I first saw this set they would look amazing colored with distress inks. Turns out, I was totally right 😉
I picked out some sentiments from two other Hero Arts sets that I loved. I love how easy it is to mix and match their sets. They all play so nice together 🙂
For my first card I used the largest crystal in the set.
I stamped it twice. Once on thin copy paper and one on regular cardstock. I trimmed them both out and then cut the cardstock crystal apart completely. This way I could color each segment with a different color. I know it seems like a bit of work but it is my favorite way to color. The shading you get is fabulous! What’s your favorite way to color? This sentiment is from Peace Poinsettias. After I stamped in black I added some highlights with a silver pen to both the sentiment and the chain. A quick outline of stardust stickles adds some serious shine.
The second card was colored the same way but I decided to just stick with one medium sized crystal. I’m really loving non-traditional Christmas colors for projects right now. I get so tired of red and green by the time December hits! This sentiment is from the Let it Snow set which includes some super pretty snowflakes.
This time I added some enamel accents to fill in near the sentiment.
The last card includes several of the smaller crystals in the set. I traced a plate to get my curve. Hey, everything is a resource in card making right?
I filled in a few more lines with a silver pen. The sentiment was created with the sentiment pieces included in the Christmas Crystals set.
Before I go I do want to remind you of a few things before I go. Our current challenge for Fall and Christmas is still going on until September 30th. You could win a $25.00 gift certificate to the store.
Also we currently have a Design Team call going on. We’d love it if you applied! You have until October 20th to get your app in 🙂
Thanks for stopping in!
