Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut

A

a2z oct 30 wm 1.jpg

Hi there it’s Angie here today with some inspiration for our October “Watercolor” challenge!  I watercolored some watercolor paper with Distress Inks and Kuretake watercolors then die cut the ornaments from Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp and Cut set.  The sentiment is from the same set.    I used a large plaid background stamp (very old Hero Arts rubber stamp) on top of the watercolored paper for some pattern.  The large wood background stamp is from Joy Clair stamps in light beige ink.   I used two strips of the watercolored paper on the sides then cut the top panel and another black panel with MFT edge die and layered them.   Lastly I added some glitter Nuvo drops to the ornaments for extra shine and two die cut bows from the same Hero Arts Stamp and Cut set.

I can’t wait to see what you enter in this months challenge!  Be sure to read about the changes to our challenge – you can use any products and we have several ways to win.  Check out the details HERE!

And remember the rules have changed for the challenge, you can use any products to enter!

I made another card with the left over ornaments.  The white top fold is slimmer than the rest of the card so I could add some watercolored strips to the inside of the card and still see them when the card is closed.  The little red bows are actually red raffia from my stash adhered with glue dots.  I forgot to draw in the strings at the top with a fine tip marker before I took these pictures – oops!  So I added them later!

Hero Arts Mistletoe from Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut w/ You’re So Lovely

Hi, it’s Angie here today with some inspiration for this month’s Watercolor Challenge.  Hope you can join the fun – you might even be the lucky random winner!

I used the mistletoe from the new Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp and Cut along with a sentiment from one of my favorite Hero Arts sets – You’re So Lovely stamp set to make this card for a family member.  I stamped the mistletoe with Distress Inks, then die cut them and stacked them on top of each other.  I added Nuvo drops and twine to finish that part off.  I used lots of Distress Inks and water to watercolor and splatter the Tim Holtz watercolor paper panel then when it dried I stamped a large older background stamp from Hero Arts called “Large Plaid Panel” across the top.     (I should have done that first, but since I forgot, I used post it notes to mask off the white edge so I didn’t get the plaid on the white edges!)  Then I trimmed it down just a little and adhered it to the card base after it dried.  I added the mistletoe bundle and stamped the sentiment with my Misti.

I usually stick to really clean and simple designs, and this was busy and out of my comfort zone, but I kind of like it.  It’s always good to try to step outside your comfort zone, you never know, you may discover something new that you really like!

Spiral Notes (Forest Scene, Candy Stripe & You’re So Lovely)

forest candy strip youre so lovely notes wm

Hi there, it’s Angie here with a fun quick project that makes a great gift or a fun item to use yourself!  It’s a small spiral notebook from the discount store covered with fun paper, stamping, ribbon and gems!

For the book on the right, I used Hero Arts “You’re So Lovely” CL949 stamp set with a few inks on some patterned paper, then adhered it to the front cover and back cover of a small spiral notebook.  I added a couple of Hero Arts gems and some thin ribbon around the edges to finish it off.

For the book on the left, I used some brand new products and an older set.  The new products were Hero Arts Forest Scene Stencil SA078 and Hero Arts Candy Stripe Bold Prints Background Stamp CG681.  I used the stencil with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green for the top section and the background stamp for the bottom section.  I added ribbon and the sentiment was stamped on white card stock is from an older stamp and die set called Hero Arts Handmade Tags DC139.

I use one of these notebooks all the time, carry it in my purse, and always have something to jot notes in.  (And they make great gifts too!)

Hope you will take the time to enter our challenge this month here: Color it in!  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product to be eligible to win the $25 gift certificate to the store!  Woohoo!

Merry, Merry….

Hello everyone!  Kymona here from Kreative Kymona, with a one layer Christmas card for you today.

I had so much fun the other day with the Digital Blog Hop we participated in that I wanted to make another card featuring a digital item.  Creating digitally is so easy and can be mass produced effortlessly.

Merry Background

We send out so many Christmas cards that this technique is one way to go this year.

Take a look at my card:

Mery, mery

Clean and simple is the way to go this Christmas.

Here is how this card was created:

1. I opened up the Merry, merry stamp in Photoshop.

2. I resized it to fit my A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).

3. Then I printed it out on heavy weight cardstock.

4. Added Hero Arts Gems to the sentiment.

5. I tied a bow (with a random piece of ribbon that I had lying around) around the top and rounded the bottom corners.

My card was done, 5 minutes flat!!  Now who wouldn’t want to have a set of cards completed in no time!!

The new holiday items are currently in the a2z Scrapbooking Store so you have enough time to get ready for the holidays.

Don’t forget to participate in the Current Challenge.  It runs to the end of the month.  The theme is Autumn and Christmas. You have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the a2z Scrapbooking Store.

If you would like to purchase any Hero Arts items from the store please head on over to the store and use the coupon code KYMONA15 to get 15% off your purchase.
