Digital Layout with Hero Arts Artistic Circles

Hello All.  Thanks for stopping by A2Z scrapbooking.  Today I have a completely digital layout for you which was actually a bit of a blast from the past for me as that is how I initially got into scrapbooking.  Being a graphic designer, it seemed a natural way to go, however, I then started looking at the hybrid way of doing things and now I have a craft space filled with all sorts of goodies.  I love crafting the hybrid way, but it is also quite fun to do it digitally, especially with these lovely digital files from Hero Arts.  This is the Instant Download Hero Arts Artistic Circles DK044 Digital Kit.

When you purchase this kit and download it, you will find that there are some little extras included, such as papers, some tags, a clip, snowflake and a pearl.  Firstly I grabbed the papers and created my background.  I used photoshop to create this layout, but there are a number of programs one can use or use a free online program called pixlr.  The same as creating in a hybrid way, this works by layers and is what makes the use of shadowing important.  If shadowing is not used, the layout will look very one dimensional and flat.  In came the beautiful panel of circles which I used in the background paper panels.  You can adjust the colour of the background circles or on any of the digital elements or you can make them different levels of transparent.  I then used the large circle as my main focal point, however I needed it thicker.  I did that, placed it in position and deleted the circle pattern behind this circular area, simply so it did not look confusing or too busy.

On went my photo panel, which led me to wanting a few more elements.  For this, I dived into my old stash of online elements bought from various packs from Sweet Shoppe Designs.  There is an endless supply of digital elements available to use along with the Hero Arts digital products on this site, combining them together makes for a really lovely layout.  So I found some ribbon, lots of flowers, sentiments, buttons and other bits that bring this layout together.  Remember, when working digitally, you can adjust the colouring on things so they match your layout perfectly.  As I mentioned earlier, I used the little pearl that comes as part of the the Artistic Circles Digital Kit from Hero Arts.  Everything has a shadow on it as this helps to make it more realistic and not flat, which is really important to the overall finished look.  I hope you like it and if you haven’t tried doing digital scrapbooking, do try, as it is quite fun and a really great way for those to scrapbook that are on a budget or low on space.

Scapbooking on Art Journal book

Hi your lovely crafters!

It´s time to say goodbye to a2z Scrapbooking DT team. I started on team over 1.5 years ago. Time went so fast. This was a big and great honor to have been part of the team. Our team is so lovely and creative. I hope for you all best wishes and lots of creative time. I hope you will visit on my blog in the future.

My last inspiration is scrapbooking for an Art Journal book. So I want to make a page just for you!! I hope that you like this…and of course you try it too!!! You can link it in the comments if you do.

I started with step-by-step photos.

I have a art journal book from Prima. It includes white and kraft pages.

I made few light brush strokes with paint.

I planned the page…

Then added more shapes with  ink and stencil.

I stamped stars.

I stamped shapes with white ink.

I made layers with distressed papers and a stapler.

I glued layers on page.

Some details more on page.

I glued tape behind photos.

And added photos on the page.

Some text and details. Now my page is ready. How do you like that??

Everyday Moments..

“Hi all and Happy New Year from me to you!

I hope your year will be filled with crafts!  I know I started it with lots of scrapping and art journaling.

I’m here today with a project for our January Challenge which is New To You.

For this project I chose the photo first, then the dark blue background.

I started with a thin layer of gesso, then I misted and inked on top of it. I also stamped some clouds.
My arrows are made with a mask and black paste.
There is no journaling on this page, I thought the image and the title said enough.

So what do you think?  Now its your turn!!

Most of the supplies I used can be found at the a2z Scrapbooking Store. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used please head on over to the store and use the coupon code TARU15 to get 15% off your purchase.

I hope my layout gives you some inspiration to participate in our New To You Challenge. It runs to the end of the month, so you have some time to play along.

You have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the a2z Scrapbooking Store. Hope to see you there!
