A Hero Arts Retailer

Remembrance Day card using Hero Arts Layering Poppy

Hello everyone, it’s Erica on the blog today with a card inspired by the British Remembrance Sunday’s red poppy. Remembrance Sunday is held on the closest Sunday to the 11th in the month of November and is the British Memorial Day. I’ve just realised I’m a month early but oh well, let’s call it ‘extra gratitude’ given the tumultuous events of the world recently.

The Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy with the Poppy Layering Ink Cubes are a match made in heaven, which those Hero Arts peeps planned beautifully. Sneaky indeed!

The first thing I did, which is what I always do with a new layering stamp, is to go nuts with stamping. Over and over again! Usually I’m trying different ink colours but as these are perfectly matched there is no guessing game, leaving you with more stamping time.

I ended up with something like 15 poppies in different sizes after using the Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Frame Cuts. I never have claimed to be able to rein myself in…. Anyway, setting all my poppies aside I started on a background and wanted to keep it quite simple to make sure the poppies are the focus. On an A2 card sized water card panel I swished some green water colours around, you can use Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Twisted Citron or Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink if you don’t have any water colours. I also added a few stems in green ink.

On a small banner, I heat embossed one of the sentiment from the stamp set ‘heartfelt thanks’ in gold embossing powder. There is this one Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder  and if you don’t have a heat gun, here is a link to one in the shop. I thought the sentiment was pretty perfect as this is a card is for all those who have served and given the ultimate sacrifice for all of us and our freedom.

With that and one last thank you to everyone who’s been or is in service, I am so grateful for all you do and have done!

NOTICE: It looks like we’re having a bit of trouble with our InLinkz Link-up on our blog. It seems to have a mind of its own and disappeared from the side-bar. However, it found a home on the first day of March here. The DT are trying to put it back where it came from, but until you see it in the usual place on the top right side, you’ll be able to enter here

Hi everyone, Angie here with another card made with some of my favorite Hero Arts products!  I hope you will have a chance to join in our March Embossing Challenge:  HERE

I used the Hero Arts D1159 Paper Layering Mum to make a mask and used the negative to sponge yellow ink, then lightly stamped a script stamp from my stash on the petals within the negative mask.

I then masked the flower and added leaves from the Hero Arts Cl949 You’re So Lovely stamp set in green ink.  I highlighted the center veins with darker green marker and added a gem in the center.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts CL922 Acts of Kindness set from Jennifer McGuire, stamped in Hero Arts black ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

Lastly I added a strip of black and white washi tape down the left side.

If you need craft items, don’t forget you can just special order from the         A2ZScrapbooking Store.

You can use the code Angie15 to receive a discount of 15% of your total order of $25 or more excluding shipping at the A2ZScrapbooking Store.
