I’d Never Forget You a2z Scrapbooking Supplies and Hero Arts

I’d Never Forget You a2z Scrapbooking Supplies and Hero Arts!!! Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you another shaped card and my last card as a Designer for a2z Scrapbooking Supplies. These two years have been amazing to me but I am leaving the team because I need to take care of some personal things but I want to let you know that I love my time sharing with you and creating with amazing products.

I'd Never Forget You a2z Scrapbooking Supplies and Hero Arts

To make my card I used a Circle Stitched Die Cut that I cut twice. The first time with the card stock folded to create the card base and the second using a single layer of card stock that I decorated and pasted over the base.

  1. Use the Spiral Petals Stencil and the Hero Arts Aegean Bold Ink to create the background with the ombre effect. I used a sponge to have better control over the effect.
  2. Stamp the flowers including on the stamp set Color Layering Hibiscus using three different colors of ink. For the base I used the Butter Bar and for the accent I used the Red Royal, colors included on the collection Water Lilies Layering. For the center of the flowers I used Hero Arts Moss Hybrid Ink.
  3. Fussy cut the flowers or use the corresponding die cuts, Color Layering Hibiscus Frame.
  4. Stamp the leafs using Hero Arts Moss Hybrid Ink for the base and Hero Arts Pine Ink.
  5. Fussy cut the leafs or use the corresponding die cuts, Color Layering Hibiscus Frame.
  6. Assemble the flowers and leafs on the top of your card using dimensionals and snail adhesive.
  7. Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set I’d Never Forget You using Hero Arst Intensive Black Ink.

Nesting Oval Dies Make Great Easter Eggs

Hi, friends, Chark here today and I’m sharing this Easter Birthday card I made with a digital stamp and the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies for the eggs. I have four of the Distress Oxide inks and I spent the whole day and part of the next playing with them.

First I used Squeezed Lemonade smooshed on the nonstick craft sheet and spritzed with water and dragged the card through it. Then I did the same technique using Mermaid Lagoon and a little Faded Jeans and cut a large oval. Then I added the sentiment in Faded Jeans oxide ink. They stamp beautifully too.

IMG_3515

I created the Easter eggs by laying the stencil down and then pressing the Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick and Faded Jeans) through the stencil with a makeup sponge. Then I spritzed with water while the stencil was still in place.

I removed the stencil and let them dry. Then I used the regular Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio to paint the white parts the stencil left. I just put the ink on the nonstick mat and used a wet brush to apply.

I cut them out with the smaller ovals in the Infinity Die set to seem egg-sized.

IMG_3513

Lastly, I printed the butterflies out and then dragged them through Oxide inks on the nonstick mat to color. I didn’t spritz them with water afterward like I did the eggs.

That’s it! I had fun making paper Easter Eggs for this card and trying out the Oxide inks with the regular Distress Inks…they play well together!

Hope you join in our new monthly challenge here.

Happy Sunday!

Hero Arts Black Butterfly

It’s my day to share with you again… some more stenciled inspiration.    Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.

The other day I saw a video by Ingrid Blackburn where she used embossing paste with a stencil, shook on some Colourbursts/Brusho’s and spritzed with water.  I have something called Pixie Powder which is similar to these with lots of mica powder in them.   I thought I’d give it a go.

It has produced such a pretty pale pastel background as I went lightly with the powders.  Did get a bit of seepage but it adds to the whole look.    I have used Hero Arts Swirl Stencil (currently out of stock but you can do a special order – check out the store HERE)

Once my panel had dried, I die cut it with a rectangle die from DieNamics (MFT) and layered onto black then onto a white base.  I die cut the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy Die from black card.  The sentiment is from THIS Hero Arts stamp and die set.  (currently on sale in the A2Z store!)

Art Journaling with Sky Stencil Pair

Hi, friends, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s Chark with a post today and I’m a newbie at art journaling but it’s so fun and I wanted to share my latest page.  I’ve always liked this phrase, “The earth laughs in flowers,” because how can you be sad when looking and smelling flowers? I have some old-world roses in my yard that smell heavenly.

IMG_3400

  1. I started by stamping a Hero Arts text stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink  and Hero Arts Mermaid Ombre Ink on white tissue paper. Then I tore the paper and glued it to the page.

2. After drying with a heat tool, I added some Nuvo Aquamarine paste through the Chevron Stencil and let it dry. Then I added some Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise Acrylic paint to the edges and randomly on the page and added some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink, using a brush, a wet wipe and my fingers…fun! (it’s a little too blue-looking in this photo)

3. Next I drew some flowers free-form with pencil, then I used some blue transparent Claudine Hellmuth paint to go around the outlines and then watered it down a bit on top of the stenciled areas too. After that, I used Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio and the Wallpaper Cling Set to add decorations to the page.

4. I ended up using more of the Nuvo Aquamarine Mousse with the star stencil from the Sky Stencil Pair. I didn’t like that the color of the mousse I first used got covered up with paint, since it’s so shiny and so I needed to put some more on the page. I also added some with my finger to the bottom of the page as the ground.

IMG_3400

5. The flowers got outlined in the Pitt Big Brush Pens from Faber Castell in Chrome Green. Then I lettered the quote on music paper I had. I used the Pitt pens in Pink and Light Blue to color in those letters too, then edged the paper with my Worn Lipstick Oxide pad. And that is it! It took a bit, but it was a fun process and I like how it turned out.

Hope you’ll enter our monthly card challenge with your Hero Arts products to try to win the $25 gift code to the store.

SECOND CHANCE TO WIN: During the month of March, we’re giving you a second way to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the a2z Store! Just comment on any blog posts here in March.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts is one of my favorites and today I am happy to share this card with you. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with a colorful textured card created with one of the most beautiful stencils from Hero Arts, the Bold Floral. Take a look at my card:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Working with stencils is very fun and you can explore different techniques with them. On this opportunity I used Creative Medium Iridescent to create this effect that is more evident over dark card stocks.  The base of my card is Whisper White and the second layer, the one I worked over with the stencil, is Always Artichoke.

I secured the stencil with masking tape and I start by applying the creative medium with a palette knife over the free areas of the stencil using three different colors. I used Purple, Green and Pink of creative medium. I removed the stencil and washed with warm water and let the card stock dry naturally.

Using the die cut included on the set Happy Stamp & Cut from Hero Arts and whisper white card stock, I cut several times the word happy and pasted these to create a bold word. Then I assembled my card leaving a tiny border on the left and top parts and and pasting the word on the center of the card to create a big contrast.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

The process was very easy and the effect is amazing! You can explore this technique using embossing paste and to give color to it simply by adding a few drops of ink. Also if you don’t have Creative Medium Iridescent, you can use Pearlescent Embossing Paste and mix it with the inks.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

Hero Arts Poinsetta plus a fun way to use a stencil

Hi Dawn here to share a couple of cards to you.   Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.   My first card is a Christmas card.

img_2458w

I used a stencil I had in my stash that is a splatter one.  I stamped HA K6176 Antique Poinsettia in some red and green inks and used an aqua brush to move the ink around.  I then used the matching die to cut it out.  (You can get it here on sale!)  The sentiment is from a Digi kit called Chalkboard Christmas  I love that I can use Digi kits together with my stamps  Did you know that A2Z stock all Hero Arts digital kits.

And today I am sharing another way to use your stencils…. Making you own colouring pages

img_2461

I took a Hero Arts stencil (SA0260 Leaf and Flourish Background) – this one is no longer available but you can get it  together with one other (as it’s not currently in stock, you can do a special order over at our shop)  I traced around the stencil with a fine line black pen and then coloured it in with some Faber Castell pencils.  Just like a colouring book page!

Remember if you go shopping to use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. And don’t forget that we are on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

Hero Arts Woof and Purr meet Honeycomb stencil

Hi everyone!

Ilina’s here today with a playful and simple card. This month’s challenge is to use stencils, so for my card I used the Honeycomb stencil. I used the new Purr and Woof stamp sets along with the oldie but goodies Hello Stamp and Cut set (and this set is on sale in the shop- links are at the bottom of this post)

I used the new Honeycomb stencil to add some dimension to the background. For the cat I used mirror image stamp in order to turn its tale to the opposite side.

Scroll down for full list of supplies. And don’t forget to use the code “Ilina15” in order to get 15% on your next order

Happy New Year to all of you!!  I can’t believe it’s 2017 already!!  Just the other day I was writing the 2016 new year blog post!!  I feel like we blinked and 2017 was here!  LOL!!

While I have your attention I wanted to take this time to let you know about the cause that a2z Scrapbooking supports!

Camp Gluten Freedom started in 2010 as a vision for Celiac and Food Allergic children to have a safe camp experience. Every child deserves the chance to go to camp, and their gluten-free or other allergen avoidance diet shouldn’t stand in their way! They can accommodate children with dietary restrictions during any camp session, but have put together some special meals and options for an integrated camp for gluten-free/allergen free children from ages 7-17.  The 2017 session is from June 11-17.

So thank you so much for your continued support! It goes a long way! We hope to have another great year!

Now onto our new challenge for the new year!

Hero Arts Layering Bird

Hey crafty peeps… Dawn here with a little tag for you today.  Our monthly challenge for September is all about TAGS.   This was quite good for me as I needed a tag to add to a little gift bag.

IMG_1962

This little gift is for a friend who is not feeling the best at the moment.  I used WAMK’s gift bag punch board to make my bag and made the the little tag to go on it.   I used a CAS-ual Fridays die to make my tag and with the help of MISTI, I inked up the bird from Hero Arts CL866 Color Layering Bird and Branch.   I used my favourite stencil Asian Flower (not in store at the moment, but there are lots of amazing stencils  HERE) to make a soft background.  Finished with the sentiment from the set
