Hero Arts Woof and Purr meet Honeycomb stencil

Hi everyone!

Ilina’s here today with a playful and simple card. This month’s challenge is to use stencils, so for my card I used the Honeycomb stencil. I used the new Purr and Woof stamp sets along with the oldie but goodies Hello Stamp and Cut set (and this set is on sale in the shop- links are at the bottom of this post)

I used the new Honeycomb stencil to add some dimension to the background. For the cat I used mirror image stamp in order to turn its tale to the opposite side.

Scroll down for full list of supplies. And don’t forget to use the code “Ilina15” in order to get 15% on your next order

Happy New Year to all of you!!  I can’t believe it’s 2017 already!!  Just the other day I was writing the 2016 new year blog post!!  I feel like we blinked and 2017 was here!  LOL!!

While I have your attention I wanted to take this time to let you know about the cause that a2z Scrapbooking supports!

Camp Gluten Freedom started in 2010 as a vision for Celiac and Food Allergic children to have a safe camp experience. Every child deserves the chance to go to camp, and their gluten-free or other allergen avoidance diet shouldn’t stand in their way! They can accommodate children with dietary restrictions during any camp session, but have put together some special meals and options for an integrated camp for gluten-free/allergen free children from ages 7-17.  The 2017 session is from June 11-17.

So thank you so much for your continued support! It goes a long way! We hope to have another great year!

Now onto our new challenge for the new year!

Hero Arts Layering Bird

Hey crafty peeps… Dawn here with a little tag for you today.  Our monthly challenge for September is all about TAGS.   This was quite good for me as I needed a tag to add to a little gift bag.

IMG_1962

This little gift is for a friend who is not feeling the best at the moment.  I used WAMK’s gift bag punch board to make my bag and made the the little tag to go on it.   I used a CAS-ual Fridays die to make my tag and with the help of MISTI, I inked up the bird from Hero Arts CL866 Color Layering Bird and Branch.   I used my favourite stencil Asian Flower (not in store at the moment, but there are lots of amazing stencils  HERE) to make a soft background.  Finished with the sentiment from the set

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a clear and simple model using the Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts, one of my favorites designs this season. I decided to create an ombre effect with this stencil over the entire layer of my card. Take a look at my project:

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts

Here is how I created this card:

  1. Cut the base of the card using Whisper White card stock. The size is 4-1/4″x11″ with score in 5-1/2″
  2. Cut a second layer using the same card stock. I masked the border of this layer using 1/4″ masking tape.
  3. Secure the Bold Floral Stencil from Hero Arts over the masked layer
  4. Apply the ink from the bottom part to up. First I applied the Daffodil Delight Ink, then Tangelo Twist and the last color, Chocolate Chip. I applied the ink with Clarity Brushes but this can be also applied with sponge or blending tool.
  5. Remove and clean your stencil.
  6. Remove the masking tape from the borders of the stenciled layer.
  7. Stamp the sentiment Hello from the Spring Hello by Lia from Hero Arts using VersaMark and Hero Arts Cooper Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with your heat tool.
  8. Paste the layer over the card base using dimensionals or double sided foam tape.

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts

Creating this card was very easy. I only have one special tip to share with you: before pasting the masking tape over the layer, take off the adhesive touching the masking with your skin. Then you can paste it over the paper and remove easily without damaging your paper.

I hope my project inspired you and that you come back with your project to participate in our Clean and Simple Challenge. Remember that you can find all the materials that I used in this card in a2z Scrapbooking Supplies Storeand if for some reason you didn’t find what you are looking you have the possibility to make a special order. Don’t forget to use my code Martha15, to get your 15% off in your orders over $25 with out shipping and tax.

Chirp Up Soon

Hi everyone, Angie here with a fun card to cheer (or chirp) you up!  It goes along with our March challenge, embossing!  Hope you can play along – to enter click here.

I used a bird stamp from the Hero Arts Digital Instant Download Feathered Friends DK029 sold exclusively at A2Z Scrapbooking Shop.  I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers, then die cut him with a stitched circle die.  For the background, I took the Hero Arts Bold Floral Stencil SA067 (will be back in stock soon) and placed it over the kraft card stock and inked it with Versamark directly from the ink pad.  Then I heat embossed it in Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  I die cut the kraft panel into 3 pieces with curved dotted border dies before adhering it to the white panel.  The greeting is from Hero Arts CL866 Layering Bird and Branch set (also will be back in stock soon).  There is also a matching die set:  Hero Arts DI148 Frame Cuts.   I attached the whole top panel to a kraft card base.

If you need craft items, shop at A2ZScrapbooking Store!

If you don’t see what you want in the store,  you can special order them.

Use the code Angie15 to receive a discount of 15% of your total order of $25 or more excluding shipping at the A2ZScrapbooking Store.

(I used Hero Arts  Mint to Green Ombre Ink, but the new color below will work too! )

Mask That Stencil

Hi, crafty friends, it’s Chark here today with some easy masking. I used my fave star stencil and a digi star with sentiment to create this card. I wanted it to look like the big star was trailing some smaller stars, so I just placed my stencil where I wanted it and added some paper that I cut and adhered to the stencil (I used dot roller adhesive).

star

After that, I used an ink dauber to quickly color the stencil…love those daubers!

photo 3

Then I placed the digi stamp (that I trimmed) into place and inked the edges.

starsa

I decided to use a die cut as a stencil for this card and just laid the white die cut in place and inked with Salted Ocean Distress Ink on the edges of the card. I didn’t measure or anything and wasn’t going for perfectly placed background images. Then the die cut was all blue, so I popped in the center and added a “Thanks” die cut. I masked the “stencil/die cut” I made so just parts would be inked on the background.

thanksa

These took so little time (considering I was a little afraid of masking, because I figured you had to be really neat and precise, which I am not at all!) that I will be doing this technique again for fast cards.

Don’t forget to enter your Hero Arts projects in this month’s challenge: Masking.

aAnd a little birdie told me the ink daubers (including the neon colors) are on sale at the store. The yellow one I used is just $3.50! Winged Friends

Happy  Valentine’s Day everyone!

Today, I’m here to share with you a Journal Page using the

Hero Arts Digital Download: Winged Friends.

Feb 14 Journal

I started by creating my background with Neocolor II Crayons and then used an Alpha stencil and Ranger Texture Paste for dimension. I added some more texture to my background with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and Hero Arts Map Grid Stencil . Be sure to let the ink dry before moving on. I also used a Heidi Swapp Stencil and Black acrylic paint for some different shapes. But you can you use any stencil- Check out the great selection here. I stamped a retired Script stamp using Jet Black Archival Ink

Feb 14 Butterfly

For the butterfly and dragonfly, I started by printing them onto tissue paper- do this by taping the tissue to the back of a piece of cardstock and printing- I then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color them. I made the Butterfly bigger and brighter as  I wanted it to be my focal point. I then glued them using Ranger Matte Medium. I finished by edging the images with Faber Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen and doodling with a White Signo Gel Pen.

Feb 14 Dragonfly

I hope I’ve inspired you to have some fun with Mixed Media. :o)

A Special Moment

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a colorful creation that I  made using one of the new products of Hero Arts that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it in the new catalog. The Bold Floral Stencil and one stamp set that is now on SALE, My Everyday Life. I created this using a Masking Technique, the theme of our February Challenge.

A Special Moment

For the base of my card I used the Blackberry Bliss color, and for the second layer I used Whisper White card stock. Now I want to tell you how I made this card. First, I secure the Bold Floral Stencil with my paper and I started to paint the free spaces with markers. I used different colors for the flowers and only one color for the background. This was the easiest step. Then, over a small piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the solid background of the tag that is included into the stamp set My Everyday Life using So Saffron Ink, then I stamped the frame of the tag with Calypso Coral Ink and the last part was the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Ink. I fussy cut the tag with my scissors and decorated one of the corners with a bow die cut and rhinestone on the center.

A Special Moment

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you  join a2z Scrapbooking challenge this month.  Please make sure your project uses at least one Hero Arts product.
