BE HAPPY TODAY

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you my first card of this year in this wonderful team. A lot of things are moving in my life and I decided to start with a yellow ride…

BE HAPPY TODAY

I created this card using one of my favorites digital files from Hero Arts, City Adventures but I decided to combine with other digital elements to complete the concept. For example I used the gift and sentiment from the Digital File Special Birthday, and the background was created with My Favorite Things Stripes Stencil, also available in our a2z Scrapbooking Supplies Store.

Since this month our challenge is Fireworks, I decided to paint my card with a fine coat of Wink of Stella Clear and add some Hero Arts Yellow Gemstones to give the shine touche.

BE HAPPY TODAY

Speaking of shine?!  I hope you’ll join our challenge for January by linking up HERE.  You’ll have a chance to win $25 to the store! Also, you will find these digital files and real products in a2z Scrapbooking Store and remember to use my code Martha15  when you go shopping.  Get 15% off any purchase of $25 or more (shipping not included), use code at check out.

Please note that a2z is also on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these social media outlet if you have not already done so.  You don’t want to miss out on any future promotion!

To The Best Kid Ever

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here. I hope you are having a wonderful time during this season. This really was a great and creative year for me and I want to thank you  for giving me the opportunity to share with you here and in my blog all my inspiration. For today I have a special card that I created using  mixed sentiments of the same stamp set, Lil Hoot.

To The Best Kid Ever

To create this card I decided to use a card base Pool Party and I decorated the right side border with a Glorious Petal Stencil and Gold Embossing Paste both from Hero Arts. Then over Whisper White card stock, I randomly stamped all the sentiments included in the Lil Hoot stamp set using different colors of ink. I used Hello Honey, Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  To finalize the decoration I added a thin line of basic black card stock and a few black star sequins.

To The Best Kid Ever

If you would like to purchase any of the supplies that I used, please head on over to the store and use the coupon code MARTHA15,  which will save you 15% off any purchase of $25 and up excluding shipping.

I hope my card will provide you with some inspiration to participate in our December Challenge   (Hero Arts Products Required!)   This challenge runs though the end the month. You have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the a2z Scrapbooking Store. Good Luck to all!

See you on January with more inspiration. Happy New Year and a lot of God Blessings to you and your families!

Flag Pattern Holiday

Hello everyone,

Cindy here to share another One Layer Holiday card.  I thought I take myself out of my comfort zone and use a stencil with geometric design instead of the usual holiday icons for today’s card.

IMG_7911

My process:

  • Stamp sentiment from Stamp & Cut frame with Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink (Royal Red) on white card front, and another time on scrap paper.
  • Cut the stamped image from scrap paper and use it to mask the stamped area on card front.
  • Mask off 1/4 inch all around card front, lay Hero Arts BasicGrey Flag Pattern Stencil on top and secure in place.
  • Use inking tool and apply Hero Arts Ombre Ink Pink to Red as desired.  Remove all masks.
  • Add Candy Cane Stickles on outer edge of stamped image.
  • Draw outline with Silver gel pen.
  • Embellish with assorted colour pearls.

Here’s a look at it next to my blooming Christmas cactus:

Happy Christmas to all

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here with today’s card. It’s perfect for this month’s challenge because I made it in one layer of card stock and the theme is Christmas. The best part is that I didn’t use any Christmas products. Let me show you my card first.

Happy Christmas to all

To create my card I used the Swirl Stencil of Hero Arts and the Happy Stamp & Cut Set of Hero Arts. I used the stencil inked with white pigment ink over the Wild Wasabi card stock. Then I moved a little to the right and I inked again with Classic Wild Wasabi Ink to intensify the color. I let the pigment ink dry for a few minutes and I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Stamp Set using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. I melted the powder with the heat tool and voila, my card was finished.

Happy Christmas to all

This technique is great when you use dark card stock because the pigment ink creates a shadow and when you apply the same color of ink of the paper you create a complete dimension of the stenciled image.

You can find the products that I used in a2z Scrapbooking Store and you can use my discount code MARTHA20 in all your orders. Also during this season you will find a lot of specials on the store.

I hope my project inspiring you to participate in our monthly challenge, remember you only have to use any product from Hero Arts and you will have the opportunity to win amazing prizes. To see the November Challenge click HERE.

See you soon!

Happy Christmas to all

Stencil Tree Trio

Happy Saturday everyone,

Cindy here to share a One Layer Holiday card.  How do you like my post title?  It’s like a little tongue twister right?  😀

Most of the time when I made an One Layer card, I like doing a little masking and inking.  Today’s card is no exception.   But I am not masking stamped images, I masked a stencil to achieve what I wanted.  Let’s take a look, shall we?

IMG_7794

My process:

  • Masked area off for sentiment on white card front.
  • Masked desired area of Hero Arts Long Leaves Stencil, lay stencil on top of masked card front.
  • Use inking tool and sponge Broken China, Peeled Paint, and Crushed Olive to create ombre effect.
  • Remove mask.  Stamp star from the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Thanks set with clear embossing ink, and heat emboss with gold EP.
  • Stamp “MERRY” from Hero Arts Winter Cheer Tag Set by Lia with Tuxedo Black dye ink, and heat emboss with clear EP.
  • Draw lines to frame sentiment and tiny circles around stars with black marker.
  • Fill in the embossed sentiment and tiny circles with red gel pen.
  • Stamp, heat emboss and use gel pen inside of card as shown.

Here’s the inside of the card:

August 2015 Challenge

Hello everyone!!!  Welcome to the month of August!!  I can’t believe we are back to school in a little while.  Didn’t school just end? Time isn’t waiting on anyone.  Don’t blink to long, you might miss the month!

Our new challenge will be so much fun and it might get messy!!  Our challenge this month is all about Texture!!  Adding texture to your cards gives them such great dimension.  The feel of the card is amazing too.

So what can you used to added texture?   You can use texture paste or embossing paste on your project, or using a technique such as embossing (either embossing powder or embossing folders). Textured card, papers or stitching could be used. Basically, anything that gives your project a ‘touchy- feely’ style!

Please be sure that your project contains at least ONE main HERO ART Product!  This will be fun and interesting.

The Design Team has created some great inspiration pieces for you.  Take a look:

TROPICAL SUMMER IS HERE FOR YOU

Hi dear friends! Martha Lucia here to share with you the brightness of summer. In this opportunity I created a colorful summer card using texture paste, stencil and embossing powder.

TROPICAL SUMMER IS HERE FOR YOU

I love this season, it’s a transition between the spring and summer and the colors of the flowers are gorgeous, but at the same time the temperature starts to rise. The thought of this was the design behind my card. To create the decorated piece I used whisper white cardstock. First off, I used the Tropical Stencil from Hero Arts and the Texture Paste from Ranger to create the background. I applied the paste using a palette knife and I allowed the texture paste to dry. After this I gave the whole background color using three different colors of Distress Ink: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade. I applied these with a blending tool.

TROPICAL SUMMER IS HERE FOR YOU

The base of my card is basic black. I pasted the decorated piece over the base using sticky strip.

Then, in a piece of whisper white cardsock I stamped a round sentiment using Versamark. I covered it with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I melted the powder with my heat tool and layered this piece over another black circle and created round loops with gold baker’s twine. I pasted the entire piece over the background using dimensionals and glue dots.
