I love London {by Terhi}

 Hi there, how are you! It’s Terhi here with you today with one of London-scrapbook layouts. Me and my husband visited in London for four days last September. I took over 900 pictures during those four days – there was so much to see. And now I have the rest of my life to edit and scrapbook those pics. Hopefully you don’t mind seeing more London pics in future, and if you are curious to see more right now you can find some from my personal blog (link).

I started to build my page with a stencil and PanPastels. There’s some stamping and lots of paper layers and thread. Lately I’ve done a lot of doodling – as in this layout, I draw paper lines with a pencil. It gives nice depth to a page, extra interest.

In Finland, we have this science center called Heureka, it’s big and futuristic building filled with scientific things and tests you try out by yourself. Our daughters loves it! For example, there are chairs and a table in a size that are as big for adults that normal ones are for child. So you can imagine how fun it is to climb up there! Also, there is this super size camera, its screen is like 50″ wide and you can take selfies with it – just as the one on my layout. I love to scrap this kind of memories, Heureka was one of my favorite Finnish sights when I was a child, so it’s even more fun to now that my kids loves it too!

Life is a game… {art journal spread by Terhi}

Hello all! It’s Terhi here today with another creation with the Hero Arts Night Flower Stencil. As I said here last time, this is my most favorite stencil ever and I can’t resist it – I’m always looking to find new projects and ways to use it. Talking about new projects, here is an art journal spread I made with the stencil. Title/journaling is from Avicii’s song (that’s another passion for me, I listen to music while creating something), that message might sound like a cliche but it’s kind of true, right?

IMG_1660I started to create this page by spreading gesso to a paper. Then some paper slices to add layers and interest. After all gesso and all the layers were completely dry, I made a mix of white gesso and pink spray mist, and I also added some tiny pearls to it. I have to admit, it wasn’t the easiest mix to add through a stencil but I made it and this is how it looks. Pretty cool!

IMG_1661After those big flowers were dry, I colored the whole page with spray mists: Hero Arts Passion Flowers Spray Mist, Hero Arts Pool Spray Mist and Hero Arts Green Hill Spray Mist.

IMG_1663Then I added alphas to their places and stamped some squares every here and there. I really enjoy to try new mediums, new colors and new textures – art journal pages are perfect to test things. You can never go wrong with art journals 🙂

Now, head on to A2Z Scrapbooking store and get yourself some mists and stencil to try my technique. Remember to use my code “TERHI15” to get 15% off your total orderof $25 or more.

It’s an awesome day! + VIDEO

Hey there it’s Terhi here today and I have a video for you. There are few tips on how to use stamps on scrapbook layouts. It doesn’t always have to be about background stamps – like on this layout, I used encouragement stamps as a title. It was fun and it gives a nice look to your scrapbook layout – personal but clean!

I also used some Christmas stamps to create interest to my background. Works perfectly, right?

And my most favorite stencil ever: Hero Arts Night Flower Stencil.

Now the video as promised, here you go, enjoy! If you need anything from our awesome store, please use my code “TERHI15” to receive 15% off your total order of $25 or more 🙂

Love {canvas by Terhi}

Hello all! It’s Terhi here and you will see something totally different today! I have a canvas for you! Yes, a canvas, made with Hero Arts goodies – all available on our store. Remember to use my special discount code “TERHI15”.
You probably think Hero Arts is only stamps, but it isn’t, it’s so much more. This is a perfect way to show you how much more can be done with Hero Arts products than cards. This is mixed media, this is my canvas!

I started to build this with modelling paste and stencils. First, Hero Arts Rain Dance Stencil. Then, Hero Arts Night Flower Stencil. Once the canvas was completely dry, I colored it with spray mists. Then I placed my picture and altered the chipboard with Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad and Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

If you have any questions about my creating process, please don’t hesitate to ask. Would you like to see me creating more of these kind of projects? Just leave a comment here and I might come back with a video 😉

Happy crafting!

Autumnal scrapbook layout by Terhi {+VIDEO}

Hello all!

I’m happy to see you here! Today I’m showing you my autumn layout. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, because here in Finland everything is so colorful. Trees look like rainbows, although they are in wrong colors. And as the evenings are getting darker and darker (over 12 hours pitch black sky – and it’s getting even longer!), it’s so nice to sit down, have some hot chocolate and start to scrapbook all those lovely pics with awesome colors.
So, without further stories, here is my layout.

Can you see what I told you about colors? Hero Arts NEON Yellow Dauber was perfect for this layout! And if you are wondering what that title means in English, it’s Wonders and Miracles”.

And here is the video, as promised.

I hope you enjoyed my layout.   I hope you are now inspired enough to do your own creation!

If you are interested in using the same stamps and materials for your crafts, please see the product list below.

And remember to use my special discount code in the A2Z Scrapbooking store “TERHI15”, to receive 15% off your total order.

My sunshines, everyday! {Terhi}

Hello! It’s Terhi here, sharing my very first post as a Design Team member.

To be honest, I’m still a little confused of all this happiness I’m enjoying by getting into this fabulous team. There are so many talented artists here and I don’t know how to handle all the inspiration I’m having! Today I’m introducing this simple scrapbook layout with you. It includes several number of typical things and items I always like to use on my layouts – like thread, self-made background, stamping and splashes.

I started to build my scrapbook page by stamping. I used Hero Arts BasicGrey Pebbles background stamp and Hero Arts Neon Yellow Dauber. Did you know you can color your stamp with your Daubers and then press it against to your background? It easy and fun way to use your stamps! Using stamps this way the print won’t be as exact as it’s with dry inks, but it gives so much of texture, personal touch and color to your background. Try it, you won’t regret it!

The next layer is made with Hero Arts Neon Blue Dauber. I just hit it against to the background and got those beautiful splatters. Once they were dry, I continued stamping with Hero Arts India Ink in black.

On the background, there’s also some mesh tape and mists. Then lots of paper layers. All the papers got ink to their edges, to give a little contrast and deepness. There’s also thread and other embellishments, too.

There we have it – my first A2Z Scrapbooking layout. What do you think, it looks cool doesn’t it?

You are welcome to visit my blog here.

Thank you for looking!
