You’re So Lovely This Year

Happy New Year, friends, it’s Chark here today to share two card versions with the You’re So Lovely stamp set. I think this set is fun and versatile and so I decided to see if I could come up with two different looks.

In this first card, I did more of a traditional look. I stamped first in Unicorn White on kraft to get a base and then colored on top of the dry white ink with watercolor pencils. I added just a touch of water to spread the color. After that dried, I added white gel pen swirls and dots and some blue Gelato that I spread with my finger and added some teeny pearls.

My second card is stamped almost exactly the same…I used the same positioning and the same Unicorn ink, this time using blue cardstock and then adding no coloring. I did add a little white gel pen for accents. I thought this turned out pretty well…and definitely different!

Ink Daubers for Fast Painting

Hi friends, it’s Chark today with a little idea for gift bags for July 4th. I transformed heart die cuts from the Hero Arts So Sorry Stamp & Cut into flags to decorate bags you could fill with candy, sparklers, bang snaps, glow sticks or noisemakers.

The secret to the quick transformation of the white hearts is to use Ink Daubers (on sale now for just $2!!). Just swipe on stripes and dab on the blue in the corner (or cover the whole mini heart). The ink daubers have a sponge applicator built in, so you just color with the bottle, no brushes needed. I added a little strip of rhinestones and celebrate ribbon I had in my stash.

While the hearts dry, stamp the heart string on the bag with the fabulous Hero Arts Unicorn White ink. Adhere all the bits together and fill with your choice of fun stuff.

These would be easy and fast for a wedding too. Just do a free-hand heart in the center of the die cut with the ink dauber in the wedding colors and add matching ribbon. You could even use white bags instead of the kraft lunch bags and ink the whole heart die cut in the wedding colors.

Hope you have a fab weekend! And that you’ll join in our July Challenge of Anything Goes—use a Hero Arts stamp, stencil, die or digi as your main element and then go crazy with the rest! You could win a $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking store and I know you’d love that!

Autumn Favors

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today with the fastest table favors ever. When I think fall, I think Thanksgiving and big family dinners. However, If you’re anything like me, you’re always 10 minutes behind schedule when you’re throwing a party. I love guests who show up 15 minutes later than I said 🙂 Dinner is usually on time, but I forget to change or touch up my hair or make the place cards. Luckily, you can make these in those 15 minutes and use them for favors and place cards.

For these bags, I stamped an elf from a Lia Griffith set that also comes with leaf and mushroom stamps. That seems like fall to me, so I used kraft bags and Hero Arts Unicorn Ink in white. You could color these, but they look cute in white, and we’re working under a deadline here. I added the initials for the family (in their hats) to do place settings but you don’t have to stamp out their whole names. Still personalized but in half the time! And the Stamp & Cut Alphas fit perfectly in their little hats and they are on sale for $7.50 right now! Crazy inexpensive for dies and stamps.

IMG_8304Add a little candy bar, a lottery ticket or some little toy from the dollar store, fold the bag over and add washi tape to seal. You could hole punch and add ribbon, but that bread is ready to come out of the oven and you can’t find the hole punch.

You know it’s not a finished project until I add a little bling, so I popped on gold stars just like you got in school and called it finished. Ding! Time for guests, time for dinner and time to look like you spent tons of time on your favors.
